Lazybones Soft Grey Twist Front Dolman Top Size XL BNWT RRP $119
Details
The kind of top you reach for without thinking — and then wear on repeat.
This Lazybones twist-front dolman top is cut from 100% modal in a soft heather grey that sits somewhere between silver and mist. Modal is one of those fabrics that earns its reputation: feather-light, silky against the skin, and with a natural drape that makes everything look considered. The silhouette does the rest. Wide dolman sleeves fall loosely from the shoulder, the neckline scoops gently to frame the collarbones, and at the waist, a central knotted twist gathers the fabric just enough to define the shape without cinching. The result is that rare thing — a top that feels like nothing and looks like something.
It’s semi-sheer in the way that good modal always is, so a skin-tone bra or a fine camisole underneath keeps it effortless.

How to wear it: The key with this top is proportion — the voluminous upper and cinched twist hem want something considered on the bottom half.
For a casual coastal look, pair it with high-rise wide-leg linen trousers in cream, oatmeal, or beige. The cinched waist lands exactly where the trousers begin, creating an effortless, breezy silhouette. Tan leather slides or woven mules, delicate layered gold chains at the neckline.
For something more structured, try a high-waisted ribbed knit midi skirt or a tailored pencil skirt in black. The body-skimming cut grounds the batwing sleeves and creates a long, elegant column — ideal for dinner or an evening out. Strappy block heels or sleek ankle boots, and a cropped leather jacket or blazer over the shoulders if the night calls for it.
For everyday wear, contrast the fluid grey modal against dark indigo or deep blue high-waisted denim — straight-leg or wide-leg both work. The rigidity of the denim plays beautifully against the softness of the knit. White leather sneakers or clogs, a slouchy leather crossbody. Done.
About Lazybones: Founded in 2000 by Creative Director Tracey Hocking, Lazybones is a quietly beloved Australian label based in Bangalow, Northern New South Wales — a coastal creative town that suits the brand perfectly. For over two decades, Lazybones has built a loyal following on the strength of its “modern vintage” aesthetic: whimsical, feminine silhouettes, delicate custom embroidery, and distinctive botanical and retro prints that feel timeless rather than trend-led.
The brand’s commitment to sustainability is genuine and longstanding. Lazybones prioritises GOTS-certified Fair Trade organic cotton, sustainably sourced washed French linen, and premium biodegradable plant fibres — including the 100% modal in this top. All production takes place in certified factories with fair wages and ethical working conditions. Beyond clothing, Lazybones runs an extensive homewares line — vintage-twist bedding, organic cotton quilts, decorative soft furnishings — and their flagship Bangalow store is a destination in its own right. Stocked in boutiques across Australia and New Zealand, this is a label that has earned its place quietly and kept it.
