If you know, you know. The Sovrano 3D cable knit is one of Australian knitwear's great collector pieces — and this one is a particularly fine example. A deep navy base is split into two distinct halves: the upper chest and sleeves feature sleek horizontal bands of crimson red and ochre yellow in a tight, smooth knit, while the lower two-thirds erupts into a heavy, high-relief geometric diamond cable knit that is as tactile as it is striking. Thick ribbed cuffs, collar, and waistband hold the shape beautifully, and the dropped shoulder seams give it that signature slouchy, effortless drape. Made in Australia from 100% Pure New Wool under the Woolmark licence. In very good condition.

About Sovrano: Established in Melbourne in 1952 by Italian immigrant Ted Klings, Sovrano was born out of a desire to bring style and flair to Australian knitwear. Starting with hand-operated knitting machines, the brand grew into a major domestic player and by the late 1980s and 90s was producing the bold, sculptural wool sweaters that have since become highly sought-after collector pieces globally — sitting alongside names like Coogi, Emaroo, and Geccu. Sovrano operated under the Woolmark licence, using 100% Pure New Wool throughout. The company ceased operations around 2017, making authentic pieces increasingly rare.
