Look closely. What appears to be a lush botanical print reveals itself to be a love story — a figure floating into the sky, tethered to red heart-shaped balloons, drifting above village houses and tiny trucks amid intricate black line work. This is Piccione.Piccione’s “Amor Vincit Omnia” — Love Conquers All — and it is exactly that.

This is an archival runway piece and a rare collector’s item. The dress is from the Fall/Winter 2016–2017 Ready-to-Wear Collection, which debuted on the Milan Fashion Week runway in February 2016. Designer Salvatore Piccione drew his inspiration from Paulo Coelho’s novel Brida, translating its romantic mysticism into a wearable narrative. The collection’s name, Amor Vincit Omnia, is a Latin phrase meaning “Love Conquers All” — and every detail of this dress carries that intention.

Piccione.Piccione operates as an independent, high-end Italian boutique brand rather than a mass-production label. The Fall/Winter 2016–2017 “Amor Vincit Omnia” collection was produced in strictly limited quantities for select luxury stockists globally — meaning very few of these pieces exist outside of private wardrobes. Finding one is uncommon. Finding one in excellent condition, with all tags intact, is genuinely rare.

Salvatore Piccione is a globally recognised print master — having previously engineered iconic prints for Mary Katrantzou, one of the most celebrated print designers in the world. The whimsical landscape on this dress — the floating figure, the heart balloons, the houses, the trucks — is considered one of his most distinct and signature concepts. It is the kind of print that tells a story differently every time you look at it. Collectors and fashion enthusiasts who acquired these narrative pieces tend to keep them rather than resell them. This one is available. It won’t be for long.

Piccione.Piccione is an Italian luxury ready-to-wear brand founded in 2012, known internationally for its vibrant colours, intricate motifs, complex graphics, and hand embroidery. The brand has collaborated with Swarovski, Topshop, and Celine. Sicilian passion meets sophisticated modern femininity.

The construction is as considered as the concept. The white bodice carries the fairytale narrative print anchored at the neckline by a faux-lace printed collar that mimics a Peter Pan collar without adding a single layer of fabric. Strategic black side panels create a dramatic colour-blocked silhouette, contouring the body and transitioning seamlessly into a structured skirt alive with a vibrant, symmetrical explosion of botanical wildflowers in vivid yellow, red, orange, and electric blue. The result is a dress that reads as a single, considered composition — narrative at the top, bold at the bottom, architectural throughout. Made in Italy from 100% viscose with a full polyester lining, it drapes with the silk-like quality the fabric is known for. Originally retailing at $1,000–$1,580 AUD at ready-to-wear boutiques.

Wear it to a gallery opening, a spring wedding, or any occasion where you want the room to look twice — and then look again when they realise there’s a whole story in the print.
